Good day to stay in bed.

Here or there. <3
Glenn looked over at Emily, giving her a grin as he slipped his arm around her, pulling her closer. "That sounds like a really good idea to me."

Brilliant! :D

When Glenn pulled her close, Emily grinned and draped a leg over him. "I think this might be the first morning in a long time where ya ain't sleepin' while I'm up, and gettin' read for work. We really need to work on our schedules, darlin'," she said before nuzzling his neck.

Glenn liked the feel of Emily pressed against him as his free hand went to rest on her hip. When she made her comment, he laughed softly, shaking his head. "Yeah, I know. What I really need to do is find a job where I don't have to work until late and night."

He looked at her. "Actually...been thinking maybe about seeing what it would take to become an orderly. I mean, can't be any worse than delivering pizzas to idiots who try to convince you that you're late and the pizza should be free. Or that they didn't actually order...and the pizza should be free."

Date: 2012-07-29 07:49 pm (UTC)From: [identity profile] served4years.livejournal.com
"Same here. It sucks when I have to go in for someone, and find out they didn't come in because they were out at a club," Emily said as she made a dace at that.

When he made his comment about becoming an orderly, she smiled. "I ain't sure what you need to do, but I can find out for ya, and grab you an application. We're losing a few in about a month because they're leaving for school, so they would love to have someone new come in and take their place," she said.

She then pressed against him, and smirked. "Plus, I can pull you into the janitor closets, and have my way with you," she said in amusement.

Date: 2012-07-30 02:17 am (UTC)From: [identity profile] amnotshortround.livejournal.com
"You know, people who do that should be forced to have to sit at work with music being played at that at top volume. Teach them to do that when they're supposed to be at work," he said, shaking his head. Yeah, he'd been called in far too many times himself because one of his other co-workers was too drunk to drive.

When she offered to find out what the requirements were for becoming an orderly, he grinned at her. "That would be great," he told her, running his hand up and down her side. He really did want to get out of just delivering pizzas, and being an orderly seemed like it would be a much more fulfilling job.

He then started to laugh. "You and me in the janitor closet, huh?" he asked with a grin. "That sounds like fun."

Date: 2012-07-30 02:26 am (UTC)From: [identity profile] served4years.livejournal.com
"That's kinda evil, Glenn, but I love it," Emily said with a laugh.

She grinned, actually getting excited about having him work at the same place she did. While she knew she wouldn't be able to see him all the time, but if he thought it would make him happier, then it would make her happier.

"The janitor closets look roomy enough. I've never been in one, though. Do ya wanna take away my janitor closet virginity?" she asked with a wink.

Date: 2012-07-31 04:07 am (UTC)From: [identity profile] amnotshortround.livejournal.com
Glenn grinned widely at that. "Why thank you," he told her, giving her a wink. He could be evil when he wanted to be, but he definitely only used it for special occasions, such as dumbass co-workers.

When Emily mentioned the closets looking roomy, he chuckled. "Can't say I've ever been in one myself. Guess we're both going to be taking each other's virginity there."

He just knew that they were going to have to be careful and make sure they didn't get caught. Last thing he wanted was to find himself fired and having to go back to the pizza parlor, begging for his job back.

Still, he liked the idea. "Guess we're going to have to scope out a good one to use."

"We might have to find a closet to try out before we move on to one for a janitor," Emily said with a grin. "But, yeah, we'll have to find our own little place."

Leaning over, she leaned over and kiss him before wriggling out of his arms. She had promised him chocolate chip pancakes the night before, and she planned to make them.

"You stay there. I'll be back," she said before she slipped out of the bed.

Once she had grabbed one of his t-shirts and put it on, she went to the kitchen to make the pancakes. Ten minutes later, she was coming back with them, along with syrup and two glasses of milk.

"Breakfast is served," she said.

"That sounds like a good idea. After all, practice makes perfect," Glenn told her, returning her grin before kissing her back.

While she left the room - looking unbelievably sexy in his t-shirt, he sat back, putting his arms behind his head and staring up at the ceiling. Of course, he knew that their jobs would come first if he went to work at the hospital, but he really liked the idea of being there with her and being able to see her more.

When she came back a few minutes later, he looked over at her, his stomach rumbling as soon as he smelled the pancakes.

"That looks incredible," he told her as he sat up and reached out to take the tray from her so she could sit down next to her on the bed. Soon, they were eating. "And they taste even better. I really lucked out when I found such an amazing girlfriend who's also the best cook."

Date: 2012-08-01 03:11 am (UTC)From: [identity profile] served4years.livejournal.com
"Thanks, love," Emily said as she let him take the tray from her. She then got on the bed and crossed her legs Indian-style before taking her plate from him.

Even though she knew she was a good cook, she still liked it when Glenn told her she was. It made Emily feel good knowing he enjoyed it so much.

"Well, you're pretty brilliant, too. You're the sweetest man I've ever met," she said before she leaned over to give him a syrup-tasting kiss.

When she pulled back, she started to eat before she looked over at him. "After this, we should go for a walk. It's finally cool out, and I'm going to need to work off some of this food," she said.

Date: 2012-08-02 12:25 am (UTC)From: [identity profile] amnotshortround.livejournal.com
When Emily said that he was the sweetest man she'd ever known, he grinned at her before leaning in to return her kiss. Knowing that she thought that meant a lot to him. He knew he'd do anything for her.

"And right now, the sweetest tasting too," he told her with a laugh, touching his forehead to hers.

At her suggestion that they take a walk after that ate, he nodded, thinking that sounded like a good idea. When he was working, he tended to spend more time in his car than anywhere else. It was nice when the weather was hot, but at the same time, sometimes, it felt like he was trapped in there. Getting outside and taking advantage of the cooler weather would be great.

"I'd love that," he said with a grin. "And I bet Starbuck would agree. Right, girl?"

At the sound of her name, their dog looked up from where she had been lying at the end of the bed before getting up and coming over to sniff at him and the plate.

"Oh no. No stealing my pancakes," he told her with a laugh, lifting his plate up.

Date: 2012-08-02 12:55 am (UTC)From: [identity profile] served4years.livejournal.com
Emily grinned when Glenn agreed with her idea of a walk. While she walked a lot for work, she knew this was going to be a lot more fun, especially with their basset hound mix Starbuck. And when the dog came up to siff at their plates, she laughed.

"No pancakes for you. They have chocolate in them, and that's bad for floppy eared dogs," Emily laughed as she leaned down to kiss the top of Starbuck's head.

The dog snorted and went back to the end of the bed, where she curled up again.

"You know she's going to be pouting until we leave," Emily said with a laugh.

Date: 2012-08-03 02:39 am (UTC)From: [identity profile] amnotshortround.livejournal.com
Glenn shook his head as he watched Starbuck huff and head back to lay down. She always tried to get chocolate, which of course they couldn't let her have.

"I swear, she's like a little kid sometimes. Wanting what she can't have and then having a little tantrum about it," he laughed.

Of course, they wouldn't trade her for anything. When they had found Starbuck at the Humane Society, they had both known that she was meant to live with them. And sure enough, she had adopted them as much as they had adopted her.

After finishing their pancakes and milk, he leaned over and gave Emily another kiss before taking her plate and glass. "Go ahead and get ready. I'll take care of these," he told her with a grin before heading into the kitchen to rinse the plates and put them in the dish washer.

"She really is. It's actually quite adorable," Emily said with a laugh.

After kissing Glenn, Emily got out of the bed and went over to the dresser to grab a t-shirt and a pair of cut-off shorts. She went to the bathroom, and washed up before putting her clothes on. She then headed to the hallway closet and took out Starbuck's Batman leash. It always made her laugh at how geeky their dog was.

When Starbuck saw the leash, she jumped up and hurried toward the front door, where she sat and howled a bit.

"We have to wait for Glenn to get ready," she told the dog.

Starbuck seemed the understood and tore off toward the bedroom.

Date: 2012-08-04 12:41 am (UTC)From: [identity profile] amnotshortround.livejournal.com
"It actually kinda is," Glenn agreed with a laugh. Even his parents seem to think so since they had taken to sending stuff for Starbuck when they sent their care packages as well.

In the kitchen, it didn't take Glenn too long to take care of the plates, and once he had he went back to the bedroom to get out a pair of shorts, a baseball jersey and t-shirt. He then went into the bathroom to get ready, laughing when he heard Starbuck's howl.

"And 5...4...3...2..."

A moment later, she came skittering in, plopping in the bathroom door and looking at him as if telling him to hurry up.

"I still need to get dressed you know," he told her, standing there and giving her a look. "Not going to move, huh?"

Stepping over her, he grabbed his clothes and got dressed, and once he had his shoes on, Starbuck barked and headed back out toward the door with him following. He looked over at Emily and laughed as he shook his head.

"One of these days, I don't think she's even going to let me get dressed."

Date: 2012-08-04 01:02 am (UTC)From: [identity profile] served4years.livejournal.com
Emily laughed and leaned against the arm of the couch, her arms crossed, as she wanted for Glenn to get ready. Sometimes she wondered if she could teach her how to pick up Glenn's clothes to get him to go faster. It would be funny if she could.

When Starbuck came back out, Emily leaned down to hook the leash on the dog's collar.

"Naked walking? Well, people do bike with no clothes on," Emily said with a wink.

After grabbing her small backpack, she slung it over her shoulder and walked out of the apartment with Glenn and Starbuck. Soon, they were walking out of the building and down the sidewalk.

"We should swing by the farmer's market. I really want to get some fresh strawberries, and make some pie," she said, which caused Starbuck to bark. "Yes, you can have some pie."

Date: 2012-08-05 12:12 am (UTC)From: [identity profile] amnotshortround.livejournal.com
Glenn laughed when Emily made the comment about people who biked naked, shaking his head. "I don't think I'd like that since the seat would probably press into places I wouldn't want it too. But naked walking would be fun."

As they headed down the street, he took her hand, and when she said she wanted to go by the market, he grinned and nodded. "That sounds good. Been a while since we've had pie."

He loved her strawberry pie. In fact, he loved anything she made. And so did Starbuck, which was one of the reasons why she was the most spoiled dog in Georgia.

"Remind me to stop by Casey's stand while we're there. I promised her the last time that I'd pick up a gallon of her lemonade since I wasn't able to the last time," he told her. He then looked up at the sky with a grin. "I'm so glad that the weather has finally cooled down. I was thinking it never would."

Date: 2012-08-05 12:35 am (UTC)From: [identity profile] served4years.livejournal.com
:It has," Emily said, especially since she didn't allow store made in the apartment. Contrary to what some stores said, they weren't homemade.

"Oh, I love Casey's lemonaid. And, it'll be good to see her since I haven't since she moved out last month," she said about their former neighbor. She was a sweet woman, who had raised three boys on her own, and was now living her life.

When they got to the farmer's market, she was glad to see it wasn't crowded yet. It would seem most people liked to sleep in on the weekends in Atlanta. Plus, there were a lot of other farmer's markets in the city.

They walked through the booths, stopping to get some homemade dog biscuits for Starbuck. Soon, they had the strawberries they needed, and headed toward Casey;s booth.

Glenn nodded in agreement, knowing it would be good to see Casey again. He knew how hard she had worked to be able to buy the house outside the city with the citrus and peach orchards.

At the market, Glenn laughed when Starbuck smelled someone grilling hamburgers and pulled gently on her leash. "Oh, no you don't," he told her.

Instead, they headed the other direction, and soon they were arriving at Casey's booth. When she saw them, she waved and immediately poured both of them a cup of her lemonade.

"I was wondering if I'd see you two today," she said with a grin before noticing the strawberries. "Oh, someone's making pie."

Glenn took his cup. "And of course we had to stop by and get your lemonade too," he said as Starbuck started using her nose to push around a lemon that had fallen to the ground from the table. "How are the boys?"

"They're good. Matt's around somewhere," she said. "Probably over at the tomato stand, making googly eyes at the cute boy there."

Date: 2012-08-05 06:40 pm (UTC)From: [identity profile] served4years.livejournal.com
When they got to Casey's booth, Emily grinned and gave the other woman a hug before taking her glass of lemonaid. She then looked down at Starbuck, and laughed before shaking her head. "No trying to eat that. I'm rather sure you won't like the taste," she said.

When Casey said where Matt was, Emily glanced toward the tomato stand, and grinned.

"Well, the boy is cute," she pointed out.

"That he is," Casey said with a laugh before she looked at them. "How have things been for the two of you?"

"Good. The hospital has been busy lately because of the heat. Too many people in the city are too poor to buy fans and ACs so they sit in their hot apartments and houses, then get sick from heaet exhaustion," she said as she shook her head. "SOmetimes I wish the city would put less money in the Georgia Dome, and give more money to the poor."

Date: 2012-08-06 01:20 am (UTC)From: [identity profile] amnotshortround.livejournal.com
Glenn laughed, nodding in agreement with Emily. "Remember when she stole that lemon drop of mine once? The look on her face when she tasted it was so funny."

He then followed the women's gaze over to the tomato stand, chuckling when he saw Matt flirting with the boy there. "And hopefully he's nice too. Can't have just anyone dating him, you know."

"You're sound like his older brother," Casey said with a laugh before asked how they'd been doing. When Emily made her comment about the city, she nodded in agreement. "Would be nice if they did, but you know how sports are always more important than anything else. Dylan's dealing with the same thing at his school. And how about you, Glenn?"

"I'm not dealing with school sports," he joked before ducking before they either hit him or tossed lemons at him. "Just kidding. I'm all right. Planning on leaving the pizza delivery biz and becoming an orderly."

"Oh, that sounds like something you're be good at," Casey said. "Bet you'd like that too, Emily?"

Date: 2012-08-06 01:28 am (UTC)From: [identity profile] served4years.livejournal.com
"What can you do? You can go to every city council meeting, and still not be heard. And you'd think they would know something is wrong," Emily said as she shook her head. Politics really did suck at times.

When Glenn spoke, telling Casey about his plans to change jobs, Emily reached down to take his hand. She then looked at casey, and nodded. "It'll be nice to see him more often," she said.

They spoke for a few more moments until a few more people showed up for some lemonade so Glenn and her told her goodbye before walking through the rest of the farmer's market.

"Anything else you want to get, love?" she asked, knowing that Starbuck was getting a little antsy.

Date: 2012-08-07 04:19 am (UTC)From: [identity profile] amnotshortround.livejournal.com
Glenn knew how frustrating it had been for Emily, trying to get them to listen about needing more support services for the poor in the city. But of course, the city wanted to cater to what they saw as more desirable. It really did make him hate how things could be when it came to government and politics.

He then looked over at her, giving her a grin when she told Casey he was looking forward to seeing him more. "Same with me," he said.

After they said goodbye to their friend and started walking again, he considered her question for a moment.

"Just a minute. Let me get something, and then we can go."

He disappeared through the crowd for a couple of minutes before returning with a bunch of homegrown flowers, which he gave to her before leaning in to kiss her.

Date: 2012-08-07 04:27 am (UTC)From: [identity profile] served4years.livejournal.com
When Glenn said there was something else he wanted, Emily took the leash from him and stood there with Starbuck. As they waited, she laughed as a couple of kids came over to pet the dog before skipping off to where their parents were. And when Glenn returned with the flowers, she grinned.

"Thank you, love," she said before she leaned over to kiss him.

After taking the flowers from him, and handing him Starbuck's leash, they shtarted for home. When they got there, she put the flowers in a vase, and sat them on the coffee table before going to the kitchen to make the pie.

"No bugging me while I'm working," she said before she started to make it.
